Shipping And Receiving Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION This position manages and coordinates all shipping, receiving, warehousing and logistics in both the Kings Mountain NC and Gastonia NC locations consistent with company objectives. Serves as a change agent and partners with management and teams to drive continuous improvement in processes, systems and services.  Oversees the coordination of shipping and receiving services in collaboration with the operations, sales and customer service teams. Responsible for providing leadership and follow-up to warehouse hourly teammates to ensure all shipping and receiving requirements are met within all safety, quality, production, inventory and cost objectives.  Maintains level of inventory accuracy on material in the warehouse consistent with objectives. Directs and plans the activities of inbound and outbound carriers.  Audits inbound and outbound shipments and takes corrective action when discrepancies are noted. Ensures all shipping and receiving documentation is verified and entered into the inventory control systems. RESPONSIBILITIES Provides information to the management team as well as internal and external customers with any requested forwarding or shipping information as needed. Coordinates between shipping and receiving services as well as the operations areas to ensure all activities concerning material availability to cover critical shipments. Supervises all operations relative to inventories of finished goods. Assigns and schedules work of subordinates to meet changes in day to day requirements. Manages all aspects of the warehouse, storage and distribution of all finished goods in the most cost effective manner possible consistent with superior customer service. Maintains level of inventory accuracy on material in the warehouse consistent with management objectives. Directs and plans the activities of inbound carriers of raw materials working with the Sales, Customer Service, Operations and related functional areas as appropriate. Manages, directs, and supervises employees in associated areas to effectively and efficiently drive standard procedures, maintain costs and ensure BOSS needs are met consistently. Maintains close communications with Sales, Customer Service, Operations and the BOSS to drive to total transportation savings on the flow of both raw material and finished goods. Audits inbound and outbound shipments and takes corrective action within discrepancies are noted. Ensures that delivery dates are met.  Supervises, files and follows through settlement of freight claims against carriers on damagers, shortages or overcharges. Works with customer service on a daily basis with any orders to ensure product integrity; organizes inbound and outbound freight and communications to necessary parties. QUALIFICATIONS Requires sufficient education and at least 5 years shipping, receiving, warehousing and logistics in supervison and/or management to perform the essential functions of the Shipping and Receiving Manager position. Preference would be a BS degree in Business, Logistics or related field with the required work experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing and logistics in supervison and/or management. 2018-146077

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
